Gue baru sadar, bahwa ada perbedaan signifikan sejak Presiden dipilih (dan nasibnya bergantung kepada) rakyat.
Sejak Presiden dipilih rakyat, untuk pertama kalinya dalam sejarah kita punya Presiden yg tidak diturunkan sebelum usai masa kepemimpinannya dan/atau melanjutkan utk periode selanjutnya.

Soeharto, diturunin
BJ Habibie, melanjutkan dan tidak dipilih lagi
GusDur, diturunin
Megawati, melanjutkan dan tidak dipilih lagi
Nah ini..
SBY sampai usai, dan bahkan dipilih lagi.
Fenomena apa ini?
Entahlah, tapi yang pasti, ada strategi baru yg nampak efektif berjalan semenjak nasib jabatan Presiden ada di tangan rakyat:
“Pencitraan”
Siapa yg nyangka, ternyata pencitraan yg dilakukan Pak SBY membuatnya jadi bisa menjabat lama.
Karena pencitraan, adalah strategi yg dilancarkan kepada rakyat.
Dan nampaknya, rakyat (ternyata) kemakan pencitraan tersebut.
Kalau Pak SBY bisa bertahan sampai 2 periode tanpa diturunkan siapapun, tidak bisa disangkal lagi, beliaulah Presiden Indonesia paling hebat dalam mempertahankan jabatan.
Who wouldve known, “The Thinking General” might have been actually thinking very hard after all..
