Kemarin, ada isu merebak seputar malaysia yang lagi lagi katanya mengklaim makanan, minuman, tradisi, apapunlah dari Indonesia
Gue, seperti biasanya, memilih untuk mengajak semua orang untuk tidak mudah panas dan fokus kepada hal hal yang akan membawa Indonesia menjadi negara yang lebih baik.
Hate, doesnt result to winning unless we do something.
Dalam sejumlah tweet gue, gue menggunakan bahasa inggris untuk menyuarakan pesan pesan kebangsaan.
Lalu seorang teman mengingatkan, untuk menggunakan bahasa Indonesia kalau mau melakukan hal hal baik untuk Indonesia, dan mengajak orang untuk cinta Indonesia.
Menurut gue, dia benar.
Memang lebih baik kalau menggunakan bahasa Indonesia, tapi bukan berarti menggunakan bahasa inggris itu salah.

Kalau gue mencintai seseorang, apakah berbeda kadar cinta ketika gue mengucapkan “I love you” dan “Aku cinta kamu” ?
Apakah salah?
Salahkah gue kalau gue pake kaos “I LOVE INDONESIA” di Jakarta, Indonesia?
Sekali lagi, bagi gue, Memang lebih baik kalau menggunakan bahasa Indonesia, tapi bukan berarti menggunakan bahasa inggris itu salah.
Mari kita lihat ke sejarah.
Adakah yang tau apa yang terjadi tgl 19 September 1945?
( gue pernah ngetweet tentang ini tgl 19 September 2009 kemarin)
Setelah kita merdeka tanggal 17 agustus 1945, fokus ada pada penyebaran pesan. Bahwa Indonesia kini merdeka.
Karena pada tanggal itu, proklamasi dilakukan relatif sederhana dan sangat singkat.
Hanya disaksikan beberapa orang saja.
Maka setelah pesan tersebar ke seluruh penjuru negri, dibentuklah KOMITE VAN ACTIE
KOMITE VAN ACTIE bekerja untuk mengkoordinir Rapat Raksasa di lap Ikada (sekarang area monas) mengumpulkan semua organisasi pemuda dan pemudi, di seluruh negri untuk pengakuan kedaulatan Bung Karno dan Bung Hatta sebagai pemimpin negara dan bahwa Indonesia adalah negara yang merdeka.
KOMITE VAN ACTIE diketuai oleh SUKARNI. Didalamnya ada nama nama seperti Chaerul Saleh dan Adam Malik yang menjadi anggota.
SUKARNI adalah yang paling “senior” diantara mereka yang tergabung di dalam KOMITE VAN ACTIE. Sukarni masih muda ketika beliau ambil bagian di kongres pemuda yang melahirkan SUMPAH PEMUDA. Berbahasa, bangsa, tanah air satu, Indonesia.
KOMITE VAN ACTIE berhasil mengumpulkan begitu banyak orang namun justru 1 orang yang diharapkan tidak mau datang. Bung Karno.
Beliau khawatir akan terjadi pertumpahan darah kalau ada kumpulan massa seperti itu karena Jepang masih ada di kota.
Adam Malik yang dikenal jago berdiplomasi diutus utk membujuk Bung Karno dan akhirnya Bung Karno setuju untuk datang.
Bung Karno hanya naik mimbar dan bertanya “Saudara saudara percaya kepada saya?”
Pertanyaan itu disambut gemuruh setuju.
“Kalau begitu pulanglah…” dan dengan itu, maka kumpulan masyarakat itu bubar. Walaupun mereka tidak pulang, hehehehe, mereka malah arak2kan keliling kota.
NAAAAHHHH…
Apa hubungannya penggunaan bahasa inggris dan kisah Rapat Raksasa itu?
KOMITE VAN ACTIE adalah nama yang diambil dengan menggunakan bahasa belanda.
Kenapa mereka menggunakan bahasa belanda?
Seorang teman menjawab “Karena bahasa belanda menjadi bagian penting dalam pengembangan bahasa Indonesia”
Kurang tepat jawaban itu.
Ini tahun 1945, sementara sejak tahun 1928 sudah dirumuskan bahasa Indonesia.
Dengan mudah harusnya mereka bisa menggunakan nama dari bahasa Indonesia.
Apalagi ketuanya KOMITE VAN ACTIE adalah Sukarni yang juga aktif di SUMPAH PEMUDA.
Jawabannya?
Menurut gue, jawabannya adalah: Karena pake bahasa belanda juga nggak apa apa.
It doesnt matter.
Yang penting adalah apa yang digunakan, apa yang digerakkan, apa yang diperjuangkan.
Masak elo nggak mau mendukung indonesiaunite hanya karena menggunakan bahasa inggris?
Masak elo nggak mau mendukung perjuangan satoeindonesia dalam memberi pendidikan hanya karena mereka menggunakan ejaan lama?
Masak elo nggak mau menolong anak anak yg menderita kanker hanya karena C3(Community for Children with Cancer) pake bahasa inggris?
Masak elo nggak mau mengumpulkan uang kecil utk dijadikan uang sekolah anak anak tidak mampu hanya karena Coin a Chance pake bahasa inggris?
Masak elo nggak mau mendonorkan darah kepada yang membutuhkan hanya karena Bloof for Life menggunakan bahasa inggris.
Memang lebih baik kalau menggunakan bahasa Indonesia, tapi bukan berarti menggunakan bahasa inggris itu salah
