Concentrating and having the disciplin to let go
Saat ini, dalam konteks pasca pembomban 17 juli, banyak orang yang terpecah fokusnya.
Wajar, karena energi yang begitu meluap tersebar seperti energi cahaya. Mengisi kekosongan.
Tapi manusia bukanlah cahaya.
Unlike light, we can decide where to concentrate our energy.
I dont know what to focus on, im not that smart.
But i know what NOT to focus on.
And that, is the CCTV capture.
Mungkin, setiap TV ingin menarik perhatian penontonnya.
Setiap jeda beberapa hari ada potongan CCTV baru yang ditayangkan.
Kemudian tayangan itu berputar berputar berputar berputar setiap saat.
Seorang dengan posisi yang cukup tinggi di stasiun TV berkata kepada saya ketika saya tanya “Apa hal baru yang bisa kita pelajari memangnya dari nonton ini berulang ulang?”
Katanya “Ga ada sih, tapi CCTB ini selalu berhasil membuat penonton terpaku di depan TV”

Betul juga.
Ada alasan kenapa gue ga berharap stasiun TV berulang kali menayangkan CCTV.
Salah satunya, adalah, penayangan CCTV berulang ulang itulah yang membuat bom 17 juli itu sampai bisa terjadi.

Tau nggak kesalahan utama yang membuat bom 17 juli bisa sampai terjadi?
Menurut gue (yang amatir ini) kesalahan kita bangsa Indonesia, adalah bahwa kita tidak memahami sebuah konsep yang jelas jelas sangat dipahami oleh para teroris

Sekarang perhatikan quote berikut:

Kesalahan kebanyak hotel dan mal adalah, bahwa sistem keamanan mereka mengacu kepada metoda pemboman pada bom yang lalu!
Padahal, kalau gue adalah teroris, jelas jelas gue TIDAK AKAN menggunakan metoda yang sama!
Bener nggak?
Menurut gue sih masuk akal.
Kalau gue udah membom dengan metoda A, maka akan sangat bodoh gue kalau kembali menggunakan metoda yang sama. Maka gue akan pakai metoda yang baru.
Lalu, apakah salah pihak hotel dan pihak mal karena menerapkan sistem keamanan berdasarkan metoda pemboman yang lalu?
Ya bukanlah!!
Bukan salah mereka sama sekali.
Gue sering denger ucapan seperti ini “Gila, tuh hotel, sok ribet amat selama ini keamananya, akhirnya malah jebol” atau “ Gila ya tuh hotel, masak sampe 2 kali kena? Keamanannya gimana sih?
Mohon dimengerti.
Bisnis mereka hotel, mereka bukan pentagon!
Mana mereka tau bagaimana cara preventif terorisme?
Kalaupun tau, tentunya pengetahuannya terbatas dibandingkan dengan mereka yang profesional.
Secanggih canggihnya pertahanan, manusia pasti ada lemahnya juga.

Bayangkan, JFK yang keamanannya sekelas dunia tingkat tinggi aja meninggal tertembak.
Gandhi, pemimpin dunia, tertembak jarak dekat. Padahal keamanannya luarbiasa.
Manusia bisa berusaha, tapi takdir bukan ditangan kita.
Bukannya gue ga mendukung usaha preventif, tapi gue meminta kita untuk tidak terlalu keras terhadap pihak hotel.
Bisnis mereka sekali lagi hotel, seaman amannya mereka, tidak akan bisa seperti keamanan white house atau pentagon.
Seharusnya ada pihak lain yang mengajarkan hotel hotel usaha preventif.
Untuk konteks Indonesia harusnya yang ngajarin adalah Badan yang paling Intelejen dalam lingkup Nasional.
