Harusnya, tgl 30 buku gue sudah ada di toko toko buku, terutama Gramedia.
Berhubung penerbit buku gue adalah juga Gramedia.
Kisah dari buku ini sangat sangat sederhana.
Gue bikin album, dan gue doyan marketing.
Gue baca sejumlah buku dan merasa buang buang uang kalau ilmunya ga kepake.
Maka gue susunlah strategi penjualan CD berdasarkan buku yg gue baca.
Termasuk didalamnya buku buku Seth Godin seperti FREE PRIZE INSIDE, MARKETERS ARE LIARS, buku FAKE FACTOR karya Sarah Mc Cartney, buku TIPPING POINT karya Malcolm Gladwell, dll.
Ilmu tersebut, kelak akan gue terapkan kepada bisnis clothing gue yg sangat gue cinta: REF Basketball Clothing.
Nah, gue kalau mikir, harus sambil nulis.
Minimalnya coret coret kertas.
Sekalian aja strategi tersebut gue tulis secara draft kasar.
Ketika album gue sudah kosong dan ludes di Rizky Rekordz (label gue) gue merasa mungkin tulisan gue harus gue bagi kepada orang lain.
I mean, i must’ve done something right.
Ilmu kan bukan milik gue, tapi milik umum.
Maka gue tulislah dengan lebih jelas, lalu gue perbolehkan untuk orang mendownload e-book tersebut gratis.
Mungkin, ilmu yg gue baca bisa membantu orang lain.
Sekitar sebulan setelah gue pasang e-book tersebut di blog, ada pihak Gramedia e mail gue dan nawarin untuk nerbitin versi bukunya.
Sebagai orang yg sangat suka baca buku, bahagialah diri gue dapet penawaran itu.
Gramedia, kerjanya CUEPET BUANGET.
Tiba tiba udah jadi aja.
Katanya, buku gue akan ada di toko toko buku tgl 30 Januari 2009
Tapi beberapa hari yang lalu ada yg bilang begini di facebook wall gue
“Njie, jujur aja gwt ga tau kl elo udah ngeluarin buku (kpn launchingnya?) lgan di GMHR ga pnh sounding ttg karya lo yg ini (gw tiap pagi dgrin STENJI). Tp Alhamdulillah hr ini gw nemu buku elo di trimedia ambas di pajang gt deh. Buku yg sgt simple (sesimple elo kyknya ya Njie), ukuran minimalis, warna htm (artinya apa?) dan tulisan warna pink… Read More…???? (knp pink?? apa?? sisi lain diri lo, hwhwhw). Gw suka bgt gaya tulisan lo, pemilihan font jg enak dibaca dan yg penting…isinya, nambah ilmu gw. SUKSES ya Njie…mg stlh album…stlh iklan…stlh buku…gw nunggu FILM elo…hehe. Salam buat Gamila en Dipo.”
Pas gue masuk ke facebooknya, begini bunyi statusnya
“Fivie nu ofis blm bs diapa2in jdny ke ambas trus ke trimedia…eh malah nemu bukunya Pandji Pragiwaksono “How I Sold 1000 CDs In 30 Days”….dgrin CDnya baca BUKUnya.”
Ga lama setelah hari itu, statusnya berubah lagi…
“Fivie akhirnya kelar jg baca bukunya Pandji…kereeen en sangat2 inspiratif. Pesan dr Pandji “Terimalah ilmu dari buku ini, berikanlah kpd orang lain….”
BUSEEEET. Belum resmi bukunya muncul malah udah selesai baca duluan.
Ternyata menurut Gramedia, beberapa distributor rekanan mereka memang udah keburu ngedrop di beberapa toko buku.
That explains it.
I guess its time for you to hunt my 1st ever book.

Lumayan banget daripada elo beli semua buku buku marketing yg terangkum di dalamnya.
Temen gue, Andira selesai baca buku gue dalam 1 malam.
Enak kan?
Murah, kecil, cepet bacanya, banyak ilmunya
