Label diatas membuat gue sangat tidak nyaman…
Menurut gue ini adalah justru diskriminasi.
Kita saling memecah belah
Di masa dimana kita seharusnya saling mengikat.
Nampaknya orang orang bersatu untuk menghentikan “musik kampungan”
Tapi gue pernah hidup diantara mereka yang menyukai “musik kampungan”
Kalau mereka tau ada yang melabeli musik favorit mereka dengan “kampungan” atau “tidak berkualitas” gue tau dan bahkan elo tau mereka akan sakit hati.
Jadi sebenarnya, tanpa disadari, pengkotak kotakan musik itu memecah belah bangsa.
Gue, mengenal mereka secara pribadi.

Gue kenal mereka.
Mereka adalah orang orang yang baik.
Perhatikan kalimat berikut ini karena ini adalah kebenaran mutlak yang gue yakini
“Kita cenderung lebih mudah membenci atau takut dengan sesuatu yang tidak kenal, atau tidak kita pahami”
Bahkan ketika kita merasa udah kenal bangetpun, kita sebenarnya belum.
Dulu, banyak orang pernah mengaku terang terangan membenci gue, lalu gue ngetweet
“How can people hate me when they didnt even know me?”
Seorang teman, dan senior yang gue kagumi berujar “What if we already know about him, is it okay to hate?”
He has a point there, so i replied “Seperti Whitney Houston bilang Its not right, but its okay”
Dalam konteks gue, kalaupun orang mengaku “Gue sudah cukup kenal elo untuk bisa membenci elo”
Gue bisa jawab “You dont know anything about me. Yang kenal gue adalah Nyokap gue, Bokap gue, Kakak gue, Adik gue dan Istri gue”
Whatever i do, they will never hate me.
Coz they know everything there is to know about me.
So hating is an excess to not wanting to understand.
Orang orang bilang “Gila ya? Bikin lagu kok gitu? Bikin lagu kok tentang nyari jodoh?”
Mentertawakan lirik “Ibu ibu bapak bapak siapa yang punya anak tolong aku, kasihani aku”
Mempergunjingkan “Bikin lagu kok notasinya dan aransemennya gitu amat? Ga berkualitas amat”
Padahal, andaikan mereka pikir pikir lagi, karya setiap orang sangat bergantung terhadap referensi yang dia punya.
Seperti berpakaian aja, kita memakai satu stel pakaian karena kita setidaknya pernah melihat orang berpakaian kayak gitu.
Nah kalau musisi dari kota kota kecil itu tidak punya referensi seperti yang dimiliki oleh musisi yang di kota, gimana hasil karyanya mau sama?
Menurut gue ga adil kalau dibilang musik mereka kampungan.

Jangan sampe orang orang yang menikmati musik yang dikatakan “kampungan” sampe berkata
“Oooh Cuma orang kota doang yang boleh bermusik? Cuma orang kota doang yang boleh keren?”
Sejujurnya (and you may not believe this) dengan meledaknya Kangen band, yang pertama kali diotak gue adalah “Akhirnya, dengan Kangen band yang sukses, akan membuka kesempatan utk musisi musisi yang selama ini merasa kurang ganteng, kurang punya tampang, kurang keren, kurang necis, kurang modis utk bisa juga sukses. Kini, sukses milik semua orang. Siapapun dia. Dengan latar belakang apapun dia”
Terlebih karena orang tidak sadar bahwa ST 12 dan WALI sangat sangat dipikirkan dengan matang
Mereka pikir band band itu hanya sekedar “kampungan”. Padahal dikonsep matang
Liat video klipnya WALI yang “Cari jodoh”
Di shooting diantara masyarakat jelata yang menggemari musik mereka, dengan bintang klip cagur, dengan nada dan isi seperti itu. Itu semua nampak terencana matang.
Bahklan seorang teman yang dekat dengan tim yang membangun ST12 bercerita bahwa band itu dipikirkan matang.
So we all should understand to stop underestimating them.
They learned their way to be succesful like they are today J
Semua yang dilakukan dipikirkan matang matang untuk bisa menjual.
Nah.
Sekarang ada yang akan protes bahwa musik mereka industrial dan hilang esensi seninya karena terlalu berkompromi dengan pasar.
Menurut gue,ya biarin ajaaa..
Bukan urusan kita kalau ada yang mau bermusik untuk menjual supaya bisa hidup.

Kemarin di pesta blogger 2009 gue kebetulan satu kelas dengan seorang pembicara bernama Mas Arif di Break Out Session.
Kami ditanya gimana caranya supaya musik kita ga Cuma lewat begitu saja di dunia musik yang bergerak begitu cepat.
Gue menjawab dengan begitu ngejelimet sementara beliau punya jawaban yang lebih .. arif J
Mas Arif berkata:
“Kalau kita bikin musik pake hati dan pake jiwa, musiknya akan bertahan selama lamanya. Bob Marley, John Lennon, Iwan Fals, dsb. Tapi kalau Cuma untuk berjualan yang akan bertahan selama masih terjual aja.
Sekarang dikembalikan ke musisinya mau menjual ya boleh saja, kalau saya memilih untuk jadi legenda”
The man has a point.
So why worry?
If you dont like their music, dont hate em just “unfollow” them
If you dont like the TV show they’re in, that means the show is NOT for you. Dont hate the show. Just “unfollow” the show
If you like a certain music, and you think more people should hear it, make it accesible.
Kalo elo bilang “Gimana caranya mau di akses orang kalo TV di dominasi oleh band2 tadi?”
Jawaban gue, “Dont whine, be creative”
Musisi Jazz sudah sejak lama bikin konser jazz di desa desa, bahkan sampai ke kaki gunung bromo.
Kalo mereka bisa, kenapa kita tidak?
Tidak tahu caranya?
ST 12 dan Wali aja mau belajar Kenapa kita tidak?
