Semakin kesini, mainan anak anak semakin canggih… Banyak yang bilang, mainan itu pelan pelan mengikis daya imajinasi mereka karena semuanya sudah tergambar dengan gamblang… tidak ada ruang untuk berkhayal…
Gue nggak setuju.
Menurut gue, kalau memang anak anak tidak punya daya imajinasi yang tinggi, itu adalah karena orang tuanya…
Dulu waktu kita kecil, cita cita kita nggak jauh dari yang itu itu lagi…
Insinyur, Dokter, Tentara, Polisi, Pilot, Astronot…
Gue sih sempet pengen jadi pilot jet tempur, kemudian astronot, kemudian waktu Indiana Jones merajalela, gue ingin jadi Arkeolog.
Beberapa hari yang lalu, gue bertemu dengan sekitar 10-12 anak anak ketika sedang shooting.
Umur mereka sekitar 5 – 8 tahun.
Mereka rata rata datang dari keluarga yang kurang mampu… tinggal di belakang tembok yang membatasi perkampungan mereka dengan perumahan BSD…
Gue tanya mereka semua, apa cita cita mereka…
1 anak menjawab ingin jadi boss, sisanya antara diam atau menjawab “Nggak tau…”
????
Hanya 1 anak?
Dari 10-12 anak hanya 1 yang tau ingin jadi apa?
“Bos” bukanlah khayalan yang buruk, untuk anak yang datang dari keluarga tidak mampu, memiliki cita cita untuk jadi bos membutuhkan keberanian..
Bukan keberanian dari si anak, tapi dari ORANG TUAnya…
Orang tuanya harus berani untuk membiarkan anaknya bermimpi tinggi. Menyalakan api harapannya. Menjaga cita citanya.
Ketika gue tanya balik kepada anak anak itu “Kok pada nggak punya cita cita???”
Salah seorang ibu ibu yang kebetulan juga ada disana menjawab “Aaaah ga usah pake cita citaaaa.. sekolah yang bener trus kerja.. kerja apa aja yang penting dapet duit..”
Now how do you argue with that?
Money, is essential. But you and i know, its not everything.
But we also know, that its not someting we can preach easily to them.
Mereka akan jawab “Jelas lah uang bukan segalanya untuk Mas, Lah mas udah punya uang kok… kami kan rakyat keciil.. nggak punya uaang”
Tell me, how do you argue with that?

Gue ingin Indonesia punya jargon mereka “The American Dream”
“The American Dream” itu apa memangnya?
Itu adalah kisah, seperti Jay Z, 50 cent, yang datang dari daerah paling miskin di Amerika Serikat dan akhirnya menjadi salah satu orang terkaya di Amerika Serikat.
THAT is the American Dream.
Brazil juga punya, The Brazilian Dream adalaha Pele, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, yang datang dari ekonomi lemah dan menggunakan sepakbola untuk naik menuju jenjang kekayaan.
What is the Indonesian Dream?
Siapa yang datang dari kalangan sangat miskin kemudian meledak jadi orang kaya?
Ada?
Kalau tidak ada, kenapa????
Kalau ada, kenapa kisah kisah seperti ini tidak di blow up?
Kalau ada kisah kisah seperti itu di Indonesia, kenapa tidak jadi inspirasi untuk anak anak DAN orang tuanya?
Kenapa tidak ada anak anak yang bilang saya ingin jadi PENYANYI atau ANAK BAND supaya bisa kayak Kaka Slank atau Ian Kasela?
Hanya 1 yang bisa menjawab pertanyaan itu…
