Lagi lagi gue menemui penggunaan bahasa inggris yang salah…
Kali ini lebih membuat gue sedih, karena datang dari sister company radio tempat gue bekerja…

Its hurts?
Padahal group MRA ini adalah grup besar yang sangat gue banggakan.
Sementara 2 foto tadi datang dari 2 majalah yang berbeda.
What a sad coincidence…
Kenapa gue sangat sering mengomentari penggunaan bahasa inggris?
Karena gue justru ingin orang untuk bener bener bisa bahasa inggris.
Bukan sebaliknya.
Bukan ingin memaksa orang untuk pakai bahasa indonesia saja.
Gue justru menganjurkan penggunaan bahasa inggris,
tapi gunakanlah dengan benar..
Soalnya begini…
Mengapa banyak majalah menggunakan bahasa Inggris?
Jelas pembaca mereka bukan orang luar negri.
Karena hanya 20% dari isi majalah tersebut yang menggunakan bahasa inggris(diluar iklan tentunya).
Orang luar negri tentunya tidak akan ngerti kalau 80% bahasanya adalah bahasa Indonesia.
Jadi kesimpulannya, pembacanya adalah orang Indonesia.
Lalu mengapa pakai bahasa inggris?
Ada beberapa kemungkinan:
1. Pengen aja.
2. Karena pembacanya terbiasa pakai bahasa inggris campur dengan bahasa indonesia.
3. Buat gaya.
Yang manapun alasannya, gak apa apa.
Sah sah aja.
Tapi kalau bahasa inggrisnya ngaco, akan membuat pembacanya kebingungan akan mana penggunaan bahasa inggris yang benar. Atau membuat pembacanya ILFIL.
Majalah adalah bagian dari media massa.
Orang belajar dari media massa.
Media massa wajib memberikan edukasi kepada pembacanya.
Asal, jangan edukasi yang salah.
Yang paling ngenes adalah kalau alasan penggunaannya adalah untuk gaya…
Mau gaya tapi bahasa inggrisnya salah..
Duh malunya…
Inilah yang sering disebut orang sebagai “MATI GAYA”
