Obrolan di twitter malam ini nampaknya harus jadi sebuah posting blog.
Semuanya diawali oleh tweet yang gue RT.
Isinya kurang lebih mengajak kita lihat apa yang terjadi di Bangkok, Thailand dan bersyukur karena demokrasi di Indonesia lebih baik daripada mereka.
Lalu gue ngetweet: Orang jarang ada yang percaya kalau praktek demokrasi di Indonesia dikagumi dunia.
Reaksi setelah itu, beragam
Banyak yang mendukung, banyak juga yang tidak.
Setelah gue baca baca, kebanyakan yang ga setuju bisa terbagi kepada 2 kelompok besar
1. Orang yang tidak punya wawasan lain tentang Indonesia selain dari yang dia baca di koran dan tonton di TV (kasian mereka)
2. Orang yang mengkaitkan demokrasi dengan kemiskinan yang masih tinggi di Indonesia
Lucu nih… karena setahu gue, Negara Demokrasi, bukan Negara Utopia
Utopia, sebuah keadaan sempurna tanpa cela.
Negara dengan praktek demokrasi terbaik akan selalu saja ada orang orang miskin di negaranya

Memangnya mereka ga ada orang miskin?
India itu kemiskinannya buseeeetttt, kesenjangannya terjal banget!
Dan tidak tertutupi lagi, gubuk bisa samping sampingan dengan gedung menjulang tinggi
Amerika ekonominya carut marut sampai orang bisa kehilangan rumah tempat mereka tinggal puluhan tahun dan terpaksa tinggal di mobil. Ini bukan fenomena kecil, ini fenomena se-negara!
Kapitalisme menggerogoti Demokrasi sehingga kemiskinan dan angka pengangguran bukan lagi naik, tapi MELEDAGG
Si @otsamir bilang unsur unsur utama dalam suatu demokrasi adalah: Partisipasi seluiruh rakyat dalam menentukan arah kebijakan negara, kebebasan pers dan RULE OF LAW.
Sekarang, soal partisipasi seluruh rakyat dalam menentukan arah kebijakan negara:
Obama berhasil jadi orang kulit hitam pertama yang jadi presiden amerika serikat. “Perubahan” adalah isu yang dia angkat. Dan dengan itu, dia berhasil membuat orang orang (muda terutama) yang tidak pernah ikut pemilu, jadi aktif dalam pemilu. Dia menang karenanya
Si @AndiBachtiar bilang ketika Pemilu Presiden Obama, angka pemilihnya naik. Menjadi 58% dari biasanya 43%
Sementara menurut , Indonesia sejak tahun 2004 dinobatkan menjadi negara demokrasi terbesar di dunia karena angka partisipasi masyarakat dalam pemilunya adalah 90% dari 200juta penduduk!!!
Indonesia bisa memilih anggota legislatifnya, bisa memilih Presidennya.
Banyak sekali negara yang tidak punya kebebasan ini! Tidak punya kemampuan ini!
Mereka hanya bisa pasrah! Jamiroquai saja waktu ke Indonesia bilang dari atas panggung, negara kalian hebat bisa milih anggota DPRnya.. di negara saya tidak seperti itu. Kami tidak bisa memilih perwakilan kami, beruntunglah kalian..
Kemudian @yusufbaginda ngetweet pertumbuhan ekonomi kita hanya beda 1-2% dengan Malaysia tapi mereka tidak ada kebebasan demokrasi. Kebebasan tidak bernilai harganya.
Gue bilang di twitter, orang yang sudah pernah ke SIngapora dan Malaysia akan tahu bahwa Indonesia adalah negara terbaik untuk ditinggali.
Bagaimana tidak? Kata @seszariandini, Di Singapore, kalau elo demonstrasi dijamin 7 turunan ga akan keterima kerja di perusahaan apapun di Singapore! Gila ga tuh? Dibunuh secara sosial istilahnya @andibachtiar
Wong di Singapore ada aturan kalau elo pensiun kerja elo HARUS masuk rumah jompo. HARUS. Makanya sering kali elo liat di Singapore nenek nenek dan kakek kakek kerja jadi tukang sapu… demi tidak dijebloskan ke panti jompo.
Mau lo jadi orang Singapore?
Malaysia itu, aturan dan perundang undangannya didesain untuk menguntungkan pribumi dan islam, yang cuma 60% dari penduduknya. Wong umat Katolik/Kristen mau pakai “ALLAH” dilarang pemerintah! Apa apaan itu?
Indonesia penduduknya 90% Islam tapi pemilu kemarin partai berbasis islam cuma dapet 20% suara.
Artinya rakyat Indonesia mau negara ini tetap jadi negara demokrasi!
Itulah kekuatan partisipasi rakyat Indonesia di negara demokrasi ini
@Rizky89 bilang Indonesia adalah negara yang menjadi model diluar dan bahkan jadi mata kuliah di beberapa universitas terkenal!
Harusnya kita bangga…
Bangga dengan Indonesia yang walaupun masih belajar, telah mampu membuktikan dirinya jadi salah satu negara terbaik.
