Banyak sekali teman teman gue yang cukup senior dalam menulis blog kemudian meluncurkan buku yang isinya adalah postingan dia di blognya.
Disini gue bingung…
Penjualan mereka apa kabar ya?
Yang pasti bukunya gak fenomenal fenomenal amat karena kurang memicu buzz seperti yang terjadi pada Saman, Larung, Supernova, dll.
Tapi gue bisa aja salah.
Masalahnya, gue merasa, orang yang akan tertarik dengan celotehan celotehan berisi seperti yang ada pada umumnya blog hanyalah orang dengan psikografi dan SES tertentu.
Tepatnya orang orang yang cukup punya intelegensia tinggi dan SES yang middle-up.
Mereka adalah orang orang yang terhitung cukup sering menggunakan internet.
Pertanyaannya adalah, kalau mereka bisa mendapatkan celotehan tersebut online di internet secara gratis, kenapa musti beli?
Kebanyakan buku yang datang dari blog juga dikemas tidak dengan eksklusif.
Malah cenderung dijual dengan harga murah.
Keliatannya supaya bisa dibeli oleh market anak muda (cenderung ABG) yang ga gitu punya banyak duit.
Padahal, menurut gue mereka bukan tipe yang tertarik dengan celotehan cerdas.
Mereka adalah tipe yang berbeda.
Mereka adalah tipe yang menggemari sinteron dengan setting SMA atau reality show ABG yang banyak ada di TV.
Kalau saja kemasannya lebih baik dan di design utk ngincer orang yang marketnya menengah ke atas, masih ada kemungkinan dibeli karena biar gimanapun juga, internet masih mahal dan hotspot ga sebanyak kalau kita di korea.
Hmmm…
Menulis memang sama dimana mana.
Mau di blog ataupun di buku.
Yang beda adalah…
Publishingnya.
Proses dan cara me-market bukunya.
Apapun produknya kita akan selalu kembali ke 1 buah kata:
MARKETING.
