Bukan itu alasannya..
Betul bahwa acara ini konsepnya datang dari program radio, tapi versi TVnya cuma mengadaptasi konsep “Aktif memprovokasi pemikiran sendiri”
Acara Provocative Proactive TV Show (PP TV Show) sebenarnya adalah 2 konsep yang berbeda.
Gue mendesain 2 buah proposal untuk diajukan kepada MetroTV.
1) Sebuah program TV serupa dengan The Daily Show (silakan di youtube aja) tapi lebih disesuaikan dengan selera Indonesia
2) Sebuah program talkshow bernama “WarungKopi”
Masing masing dengan durasi 30menit
Ketika presentasi di hadapan Mbak Desi Anwar, beliau bertanya “Kenapa nggak digabung aja jadi 1? Sebuah acara live selama sejam”
Next thing i know, we were planning stuffs for the 1st episode.
Ide Warung Kopi datang dari gabungan beberapa hal.
Perjalanan gue keliling Indonesia membawa gue kepada sebuah pengalaman menarik, dimana hampir setiap kota di Indonesia ada sejenis “tongkrongan” entah itu warkop seperti blandongan atau angkringan..
Disitu, orang orang ngobrol dengan begitu bebasnya.
Kadang bahkan 3 generasi. Generasi kita, bapak kita dan kakek kita. Ngomongin politik dari jaman Soekarno sampe SBY.
Lalu pada suatu hari, gue bersama dengan Andi Bachtiar, Ronal, Iman, dan lain lain ngopi sama sama di Kopi Phoe Nam. Disana kami ngobrol panjang tentang sejarah Indonesia, tentang konspirasi dan politik.
Pulang dari situ, gue ngetweet malam malam (beberapa followers mungkin masi inget) bagaimana gue berandai andai betapa kerennya kalau obrolan tadi ada di sebuah acara TV.
Pengaruh terakhir adalah sebuah serial TV berjudul “Entourage” dimana ada 4 tokoh yg mewakili 4 karakter laki laki…
Needless to say, talkshow Warung Kopi on PP TV Show was a combination of all the above.
Maka lahirlah acara PP TV Show, 40% berita, 60% talkshow, 100% usaha untuk mengajak anakmuda di Indonesia untuk lebih sadar keadaan bangsa lewat berita, dan edukasi politik.
FAKTA: Sejak 1908, 1928, 1945, sampai 1998, adalah PEMUDA yang membawa perubahan besar untuk Indonesia.
Kini 2010, Indonesia dipandang banyak orang sebagai lahan cari duitnya politikus busuk, membuat kita skeptis terhadap dunia politik di Indonesia
Kalau memang selama ini pemuda membawa perubahan untuk Indonesia, maka pemudapun akan bisa mengubah politik Indonesia.
Syaratnya 1: PAHAM POLITIK.
Pemuda di Indonesia tidak boleh anti, benci, apatis terhadap politik. Seorang anggota DPR, Tere pernah bilang. Anggaplah peta politik Indonesia seperti sebuah gelas yang isinya air kotor. Untuk membersihkannya ada 2 cara, dibuang semua isinya, atau gelas berisi air kotor tersebut dituangi air bersih, hingga seluruh isi gelas penuh dengan air bersih.
Untuk lakukan yang ke 2, maka yg bersih harus mau “menuangkan” dirinya ke dalam gelas tersebut.
Tidak, gue nggak bilang gue paham politik, tapi JUSTRU itu poinnya.
Kita sama sama belajar.
Setelah episode pertama tayang, ada banyak pujian, tapi banyak pula kritik dan cercaan.
Tapi itu bagus, dan itulah yang gue nanti nanti: Reaksi.
Setelah episode ke 2 tadi, gue merasa kami sudah lebih baik dari sebelumnya, walaupun masih banyak ruang untuk diperbaiki. Yang adalah bagus karena artinya kami masih bisa berkembang ke arah yang lebih baik.

Semua reaksi diatas membuktikan satu hal sebenarnya: Banyak yang punya ekspektasi tinggi terhadap PPTV Show
That, i think, is a form a compliment.
Barusan gue pindah pindah channel dan gue sadar bahwa gue capek. Liat acara acara yang “berbohong” kepada yang nonton.
Capek liat anak muda tanpa pilihan di layar TV.
Gue rasa gue tidak sendiri.
Karena itu ketika PPTVShow mengudara, banyak yang berharap banyak pada acara ini.
We’re not perfect. Nor will we ever be.
But we are passionate about this.
We will improve.
And when we do, you will too.
