Gue kuliahnya di fakultas seni rupa, lingkungannya membuat siapapun bebas berekspresi tanpa harus diliat aneh.
Bebas untuk melakukan eksperimentasi apapun.
Bahkan ada mata kuliah “Eksperimen Kreatif” mata kuliah yang gue sesali ga gue ambil dulu.
Nah, waktu itu gue pernah bikin sebuah survey yang gue tanyakan kepada temen temen gue. Hasil dari survey itu gue print dan gue tempelkan di tembok tembok kampus gue 
Pertanyaany survey tersebut adalah “APAKAH SURGA DUNIAWI-MU?”
Jawabannya beragam sekali
Ada yang menjawab “TIDUR” karena dia insomnia
Ada yang menjawab “HANDUK KERING” karena temen temennya suka nginep di kostannya sehingga handuknya selalu basah dipake orang orang
Ada yang menjawab “BERCINTA DENGAN PEREMPUAN DARI 5 BENUA” karena… yaa.. mungkin karena dia pervert.
LOL!!!
Diantara semua jawaban, ada satu buah jawaban yang paling menempel di benak gue:
“KETIKA HOBI TELAH MENJADI PROFESI”
Temen gue namanya Wicak, dia hobinya offroad.
Bersama teman temannya dia mendandani mobilnya utk kebutuhan offroad
Kalau gue ga salah, dia akhirnya jadi atlit offroad.
Menurut gue, ini adalah surga duniawi siapapun yang sudah menemukan passionnya.
Temen gue Okeu, hobinya main yoyo, bahkan lebih dari hobi, yoyo adalah passionnya.
Sekarang, Okeu udah keliling dunia karena yoyo-nya.
Dia adalah juara dunia yoyo.
Dunia.
Asal Indonesia.
Dia pernah jadi juri kejuaraan yoyo dunia, mendesain yoyo yang sangat mahal dan kemana mana bawa yoyo yang harganya puluhan juta rupiah.
He is living his dream. Because he can live by his dream
Note the last part of the sentence.
He can LIVE by his dream.
Dia bisa HIDUP dari mimpinya.
Ketika dia sudah bisa hidup dari mimpinya, artinya passion-nya telah memberikan penghasilan.
Ini adalah sesuatu yang juga gue (dan elo tentunya) inginkan.
Bayangkan bahagianya menjadi Bambang Pamungkas (terlepas dari minimnya gol yg dia cetak belakangan ini) punya passion terhadap sepakbola dan bisa hidup mewah dari passion-nya
Bayangkan bahagianya Deni Sumargo. Punya Passion terhadap basket dan bisa hidup dari olahraga itu dan brand endorsement-nya.
Bayangkan bahagianya Kaka Slank. Mencintai musik dan bisa hidup dari bermusiknya.
Bahagia.
Ketika passion sudah bisa menghidup dirinya.
Nah.
Tadi pagi gue membaca sebuah quote dari Tessy Penyami, istri dari Igor Penyami, also known as Saykoji.

“When ur passion is ur work, life is joy.”
Hiphop, belum jadi profesi yang menjanjikan.
Belum.
Tapi gue optimis akan.
Gue ingin orang bisa melihat hiphop menjadi pilihan hidup.
Gue ingin orang yakin bisa hidup dari hiphop.
Gue pengen orang ketika ditanya apa profesimu menjawab dengan lantang “Saya rapper”
Gue ga pengen denger jawaban “Ooh rapper kan hobi, maksud saya, profesinya.. kamu nyari uang dari mana?”
You see, hiphop is different from rock or jazz or any other music genre.
In hiphop, being a succesful rapper helps you get business deal coz u are a part of a certain message.
Thats why, Jay Z, Nelly, Kanye, 50 cent got sneaker deals.
And you know sumthin?
The Jay Z reebok series also the 50 reebok series sold more sneakers than reebok’s athlete endorser.
50 cent inked the deal of a life time with Vitamin Water.
Jay Z owned a nightclub, a basketball franchise team, a clothing line, etc
SO being succesful in hiphop doesnt entirely mean money.
But success in hiphop is determined wether you have become something or not.
Do you represent something.
Are you a voice of a certain community.
Tapi, seperti kata Azrul Ananda, komisaris DBL sebuah kompetisi basket tingkat SMA yang sangat sukses
“Kompetisi itu harus hidup dari penontonnya, bukan dari sponsor”
Karena itu, Azrul tidak pernah menggratiskan tiket nontonnya.
Menurut gue harusnya hiphop juga seperti itu.
Business deals are business deals.
One time they will leave you and ink another deal with another hot item.
Thats why rappers in the US are more of an etrepreneur. Coz they dont hold on to the inked deals. They treat those deals as another deal.
Yang paling bisa diandalkan apresiasinya adalah para penikmat musiknya.
Fans harusnya menghidupi musisi.
And its only natural.
If i was moved by a song, or the song motivated me, or i was inspired by the music, or my life had changed because of someone’s music, it would be natural for me to payback as a way of saying thankyou.
Inilah yang gue usahakan untuk ada di dunia hiphop.
Biar ga ada lagi yang harus meninggalkan passionnya
Biar ga ada lagi yang harus merelakan karir rap-nya dan kembali ke “kehidupan nyata”
Gue mau bikin karir rap-nya adalah justru kehidupan nyata!
Gue mau bikin rapper bisa hidup dari passionya yaitu hiphop.
“Ketika hobi/passion sudah menjadi profesi”
Itulah Surga Duniawi…
