Setelah ikutan openmic rabu kemarin di Comedy Cafe Kemang, nampak semakin jelas.
Meledaknya scene Stand Up Comedy bukan hanya memunculkan banyak penonton, tapi juga terutama pelaku.
Kelihatannya, orang orang yg selama ini suka Stand Up sudah lama ingin menjajal, hanya saja mereka butuh utk lihat orang lain memulai duluan, baru mereka berani ke permukaan
Ini adalah sesuatu yg hebat, tentu, yg bagus akan bertahan, yg jelek akan berguguran. Semua ditangan penonton Stand Up Comedy.
Belakangan, tawaran kerja (dibayar tentunya) utk StandUp semakin banyak muncul..
Karena itu, open mic akan jadi semakin penting.
Banyak orang yg belom tahu, bawa sesungguhnya openmic itu sering digunakan oleh comic baru utk memperkenalkan dirinya dan juga sering digunakan laboratorium bagi para comic yg sudah dikenal.
Openmic itu sering jadi tempat para comic utk ngetes materi yg mereka baru tulis, sebelum materi itu mereka gunakan di gig standup mereka (di mana mereka akan dibayar)
Kenapa materi yg ditulis harus di tes dan kenapa ngetesnya di openmic?
Semua comedian tahu, bahwa materi ketika ditulis dan dipraktekkan atau dibawakan di atas panggung bisa sangat beda.
Di tulisan bisa nampak lucu tapi dipanggung belum tentu
Makanya semua acara seperti The Tonite Show atau David Letterman atau Conan O Brien, bahkan juga Provocative Proactive TV, selalu ada blocking + reading sebelum shooting. Supaya materi yg ditulis dijajal dulu untuk merasakan langsung tempo dan terutama “feel”nya..

Karena lebih aman utk mengambil resiko dalam melatih materi ketika di openmic.
OpenMic adalah sarana utk siapapun, baik itu comic yg lucu ataupun tidak, yg veteran atau yg amatir, untuk naik panggung dan menjajal kemampuannya. Penontonnya biasanya tdk ditarik enterance fee atau First Drink Charge
