Tapi tentang kebiasaan orang berucap tanpa berpikir efeknya.
Sekarang sekarang ini, banyak sekali orang yang sering ngomong
“HAHAHAHAHA, dasar autiss!”
atau “Tuh liat, jadi autis gara gara blackberry”
Padahal andaikan dia tahu, di sekitar dia BANYAK sekali orang yang mungkin punya anak, atau adik atau kakak yang autis.
Gue punya temen deket yang baru belakangan gue tau kalau adiknya autis.
Gue punya beberapa temen (orang yang sangat terkenal bahkan…) yang anaknya autis.
Bayangkan elo ngomong seperti itu tanpa sadar bahwa mungkin temen lo anaknya autis.
Pasti sakit sekali rasanya hati temen lo itu.

baru terasa ya?

Dan bukan cuma menggunakan kata autis, tapi juga dalam menggunakan kata “idiot” atau “cacat mental” dan yang sejenisnya…
Gue punya saudara yang terbelakang mentalnya, dan gue SANGAT SAYANG padanya.
Bagi gue, orang yang becanda seperti itu sangat tidak sensitif.
Gue terutama, sangat kuatir kalau menggunakan semua “hinaan” diatas karena gue ga akan pernah tahu kalau ternyata lawan bicara gue atau orang yang mendengarkan punya kenalan, saudara atau anggota keluarga yang autis.
BANYAK BANGET LHO disekitar kita yang punya adik atau anak autis.
I know, i know, kadang kita maksudnya becanda ketika mengatakan bahwa teman kita autis.
Tapisemua itu irelevan dengan apa yang dirasakan mereka yang mendengarkan.

Mereka tau kok elo becanda, tapi mereka juga di dalam hati berharap agar elo ga becanda seperti itu…

Tulisan ini jadi penting terutama karena fenomena blackberry.
Fenomena itu memperbesar kemungkinan orang menggunakan kata autis dalam setiap becandaan mereka.
